Dried savory is used in cooking and is generally added at the end because prolonged cooking results in evaporation of its essential oils. It is used in various dishes such as marinated chicken, fish and meat, and can be used as garnish in salads, seasonal soups and sauces. Dry savory is an excellent source of vitamins and minerals: potassium, iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, zinc and selenium, and vitamin B complex, vitamin A and C, thiamine and niacin pyridoxine.
